First SEPCA General Assembly under the Republic of Srpska SEPCA Presidency
On June 13th, 2023, in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, took place the First SEPCA General Assembly under the Republic of Srpska SEPCA Presidency that was organized with support of the Criminal Intelligence Service of Austria (BK) through the Internal Security Fund-Police.
The event brought together the Police Chiefs from the SEPCA member states and SEPCA’s partners like BK, Interpol and IPA 2019 Project –CSCWB.
The main goal of the General Assembly was to discuss the threats in the SEPCA region and to approve the Discussion Paper No1 on establishing SEPCA Cybercrime Network and Discussion Paper No2 on establishing SEPCA Women Police Officers Network.
Both Discussion Papers were developed with the expertise and help from BK and will bring an added value to the Association.
Cybercrime is a global threat and the SEPCA region is not an exception. It has a huge impact and financial damage, while it is affecting the critical infrastructure, essential services, businesses and individuals.
The rapid exchange of information, intensive networking and improving cooperation between Cybercrime units of the SEPCA member states is crucial. Therefore, the SEPCA Cybercrime Network will serve as an early warning “tool” for Police Directors on Cybercrime threats that are affecting a SEPCA member state.
