Successful SEPCA Cybercrime Network Workshop held in Vienna
The Police Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in its capacity as the Presidency of the SEPCA for 2026, in cooperation with the Criminal Intelligence Service of Austria (BK), successfully organized the SEPCA Cybercrime Network Workshop that was held on 18 March 2026 in Vienna.
The workshop, which was financed by SEPCA’s strategic partner BK through the Internal Security Fund 2021-2027, brought together Cybercrime experts from all SEPCA member institutions and BK representatives.
The aim of the Workshop was to strengthen joint responses to Cybercrime threats through sharing the statistical data on Cybercrime attacks in 2025, key challenges faced by law enforcement agencies, newly identified modus operandi, emerging trends, as well as recent modifications and adjustments to the legal framework.
The workshop commenced with the opening remarks delivered by representatives of BK and the SEPCA National Coordinator of the SEPCA Presidency in Office, setting the stage for a comprehensive and productive exchange of expertise.
Special attention was given to Cyber prevention, highlighting Austrian best practices like the “Watchlist Internet” and “Phishing Impossible” initiatives. The BK experts also presented on the use of Artificial Intelligence in Police.
During the event, the participants held interactive sessions to enhance the SEPCA Cybercrime Network, focusing on knowledge exchange and coordinated regional action. They exchanged valuable insights and agreed on key directions for enhancing cooperation and improving joint responses to Cyber threats.
The successful organization of this workshop once again confirmed the importance of strong regional and international cooperation in addressing the growing challenges of Cybercrime, reaffirming SEPCA’s commitment to continuous development of capacities, knowledge exchange, and coordinated action among its members.
It also underlines the importance of the SEPCA Cybercrime Network for the Association, since it provides the platform where the Cybercrime experts can align their approaches, learn from each other’s cases, and react quickly together while a threat does not stop at the border.
